Q. Are upgrades free of charge?

A. They are free of charge within a major version number. For example all upgrades from version 3.0.0 to 3.9.99 are included when the version purchased is of version 3.X.X When the major number changes, a new version has to be purchased. There might be special pricing for a while available as well. Check the What's New section for new version update announcements.

Q. How are upgrades delivered?

A. Upgrades are done by downloading the current trial version that will be unlocked by a previously purchased Serial Number and Activation Code.

Q. I have problems activating my Panel Builder. Can you help?

A. Follow the instructions in the User Manual. You have to start with Step 1 after you receive a Serial Number with your order confirmation. If you didn't get a Serial Number or Activation Code, contact Support.

Q. Does your software work on Windows XP?

A. No, Panel Builder and CheckRide both require Windows Vista or greater, we recommend Windows 10.

Q. Where can I find older version downloads?

A. Previous versions of our software can be downloade from our Legacy Products Page.

Panel Builder

Q. Is there a version of Panel Builder for X-Plane running on Mac?

A. Panel Builder will only work on MS Windows. There is a plugin for X-Plane 10/11 on the Mac available on request. You still need a networked Windows Computer for the Instrument Panel. Please contact support if you want to try the X-Plane Mac plugin.

Q. Is there a version of Panel Builder for X-Plane running on Linux?

A. Currently there are no plans for a Linux version.

Q. Can I run the Flight Simulator and Panel Builder on the same computer?

A. Yes, this is possible. There is a performance hit that has to be considered. Any processing power that Panel Builder requires will be taken away from the Flight Simulator. It all depends how powerful the computer is and how complex the panel is. It is recommended that only smaller panels with a few instruments or a late generation Intel I7 processor is used. Otherwise it is recommended to use a 2nd, networked computer for the Panel Builder.

Q. My Instruments do not react or show any data from my simulator

A. This can happen when using a networked setup. Make sure you have the network settings configured correctly. Check the User Manual.

Q. My Instruments lag behind my Flight Simulator Instruments.

A This has very likely to do with the performance specs of your computer, especially on a single computer simulator. You might have to decrease your flight simulators graphics and/or feature configuration. An alternative would be to add a 2nd computer for the instrument panel.

Q. I installed the GPS MFD Add-On or the GPS EFIS Add-On but get an error that the file System.Data.SQLite.dll cannot be found or loaded when launching the GPS.

A. On some systems this file fails to install, probably because of the antivirus program installed. You can download the file with this link and place it into

C:\Program Files (x86)\Panel Builder 3\Instruments_GPS_EFIS.
or
C:\Program Files (x86)\Panel Builder 3\Instruments_GPS_MFD.

Q. I can only see the instruments partially, they seem to be cut-off.

A. This has to do with the screen setting in Windows. Right click on your desktop and select 'Display Settings'. Then select the display graphic (the box with the monitor number in it) with Panel Builder and make sure you select ‘100%’ in the Scale and layout setting.

Q. Do you develop additional instruments on request?

A. Yes we do. Depending on complexity we can add instruments on request free of charge. They will be made available through a version upgrade or sent directly to the requester. We also take on commissioned work for providing instruments for integration into customized flight simulators for exclusive use. Contact support to receive a quotation. In any case, we will need at least a high resolution image/photo of the instrument(s).

Q. When I start the Panel, I cannot see any instruments, just the background is visible.

A. Install Microsoft .Net Framework 4.8 Runtime. Download it from Microsoft and install it on your computer with Panel Builder. This should have been installed automatically when installing Panel Builder the first time.

Q. When I start the Panel, the instruments appear for about 1 second, then go black.

A. Some instruments (radios and other navigation instruments) and all EFIS Instruments require have different power requirements in the form of Avionics Power Switch and/or Battery Power Switch. Most EFIS Instruments can be configured which to use. If you start the panel while the simulator is already running, the power requirements are probably not fulfilled by the simulator (turn the Battery and Avionics on).

Q. Can I distribute or resell panels I built with Panel Builder?

A. There is an export and import facility within the 'Build' menu of Panel Builder. Panels built with Panel Builder are just a configuration about what background the panel has, what instruments are used and where they are placed. The Panel Builder product is always needed to ‘run’ a panel plus any add-on instrument packages used for the exported panel.

CheckRide

Q. Can I run the Flight Simulator and CheckRide on the same computer?

A. Yes, this is possible. There is a performance hit that has to be considered. Any processing power that CheckRide requires will be taken away from the Flight Simulator. It all depends how powerful the computer is. You might have to adjust the flight simulator features to gain back more power or add a 2nd networked computer or tablet for CheckRide.

Q. When I start the CheckRide Console or Builder I get an error that the file System.Data.SQLite.dll cannot be found.
